I didn't realize how long it's been since we've done an actual update! Life has been a speeding train, and we've been trying not to get run over... Shaylee and Ellie had a hard time in January when Jeff's Grandpa Davis passed away. They loved going over to see him because he would always give them tootsie rolls and dollar store toys. It made me very thankful to know that this life is not the end, and that Grandpa is still Grandpa, he is just separated from his body for a while. Jeff took a couple of days off to drive Grandma to California with his Dad. Jeff has also been working hard this busy season. It broke Jeff's heart when Shaylee asked him when he was going to quit traveling and live at home again! But at least KPMG took us to a nice restaurant for our anniversary...and everyone else that worked on Intermountain and select health! But seriously, Cocina Tuscana was the best food I've ever had! We are now looking forward to Next week when Jeff will have a week of Vacation, Yeah!
Anika has been trying to keep up on Laundry and dishes, and kids, and primary...I am sorry that my inability to keep up leads me to neglect all of the friends and family we don't see very often! We do love you and think of you, but I don't usually accomplish any more than that.
Shay is still loving school and it is surprising how much spanish she understands and can say! It is fun to practice with her, though time consuming. She is loving reading, and can now read well enough to read her younger sisters bedtime stories, which is great! She still has lots of homework, about 30-45 minutes a day! She is also working hard at piano and can play several songs with both hands together. She is great at motivating herself, and doing her jobs, I just wish her sisters were too.
Ellie needs to go to preschool. She loves to play "math clues" with Shaylee, and is trying to start reading and writing as well. She's our little string bean, gets very distracted, but is very loving (mostly) except when she doesn't get her way! She begs everyday to invite friends over to play, I hope someday I get on top of things enough to say "ok!" but so far, it hasn't happened. She is also working on piano and loves to be able to sit down and play a couple of her favorite songs!
Chloe is still our little hurricane. She loves to play outside, climb on stuff, jump on couches and beds, and get into everyone elses things. She is finally potty trained and quite independent which can be good and bad. For example. .. it is good that she can get herself a drink if she needs one, but it is not always good when she climbs on the dresser toget it from her sister's water bottle...or it is good that she can get dressed and undressed herself, but not always good when she tries to give herself a bath... anyway...
The girls have tons of energy, and most days they end up running laps around our house screaming and tackling each other. I never pictured girls that way, do other little girls play like that? They also love to "help" Grant. Like when he is sleeping and they go "Check On" Grant and wake him up so they can come tell me he is awake.
Grant is definitely a boy. He thinks if he is awake he needs to be eating, which is why he is 5 months old and starting to wear 9 month clothes... He loves to grab everything in reach and stick it straight in his mouth. He also loves to be carried around which makes it slightly more difficult to accomplish anything. luckily he has a new exersaucer with lots of little toys that he can reach to chew on, and that helps a little. He would probably sit up and crawl soon too, if he would stay on his stomach long enough to figure it out! He is very wiggly!
Well, that is our quick update, hopefully I didn't forget anything important!

Not getting much done past the basics, sounds familiar, and we've only got 3! Playdates have definitely diminished at our house too, and when they do happen, I usually just have to keep telling myself that a 4yo or 6yo doesn't care what my house looks like!
As for kids running around the house, Eden and Andrew do that all the time- I can't wait for more nice weather, so we can go outside again!
You're alive! I hope the bandaids on Grant's head don't have anything to do with the girl posing with him. We miss you guys soooo much! We love the pictures though. What a beautiful family you have.
Oh, those aren't bandaids, they are valentine stickers that Chloe decided to "share" with him! and Just in case anyone was wondering, the pictures of the girls wet on the kitchen door were of them playing "Cinderella" (mopping the floor"...we play that game when the floor really needs mopped but I don't have time to do it!
